URGENT threat to turtles, wetlands, wildlife, citizen rights, and Indigenous rights in Ontario

Dear Supporters, in addition to continued failures in our community to protect rare and ancient souls like Grace, now all wetlands and wildlife across Ontario have been put in immediate jeopardy. 

The Ontario Premier has used his majority standing (although less than 19% of voters turned out), to gut all hard-won protections for wildlife in Ontario. Bill 23 not only lets almost all wetlands be filled and developed, killing fish, turtles, displacing moose, and jeopordizing safe drinking water supplies, but it also takes away the rights of citizens to know about, comment on, or appeal development decisions. Bill 23 gives the Premier ultimate authority to choose favourites; who gets to develop, and where. The Bill also violates the Duty to Consult Indigenous Nations in Canada regarding their Rights and Title.

Experts say that this Bill, if passed, will result  in the largest wetland and wildlife loss in this part of North America since colonization and we will see devastation on par with the dirty thirties.
