One thing we have learnt over recent months is that Harlow Council love to use scientific data (when it supports their agenda) so lets take a look at their statement about being unable to allow hacking due to Harlow Woods being in a 'unfavourable condition.'
According to Natural England's 2023 data - Harlow woods leads other local SSSI's for total percentage of woods in a favourable condition as shown in the graph.
I am sure Harlow Council will try to say that's because they don't allow hacking, but wait...
... by a council officers own admission (in an email to a colleague obtained as part of our DSAR) they are fully aware that hacking has been taking place in the woods for years.
Maybe these are the uncomfortable truths they would prefer us not to air in their meeting?
