The article from Your Harlow has prompted some online debate... and whilst not everyone shares the same view as us, its good to get everyone's opinions in the hope that we can work with the council to find an agreeable solution for everyone who would like to enjoy the area. We've also been doing some research on SSSI's to better understand the implications. Its great to see that other woodlands (Epping, Thetford and Thorndon to name a few) have the same designation, but still encourage riding as this gives evidences that an SSSI does not equal a blanket 'No horses'

Its also been fantastic to hear from other users of Risden woods who are able to help us track historic use of the area for hacking. Be it dog walkers, other equestrians or former residents of the neighbouring estates, your statements help us to document long standing equestrian use - We really appreciate you coming forward.
