Hi, friends. Thanks so much for spreading the word. WE ARE ALMOST TO 1500 SIGNATURES in ONE WEEK! Great job!!!! Keep it up!!
Both the LA Times and USA Fencing CEO Phil Andrews have seen our petition. In response yesterday, Mr. Andrews provided the names of the people who were selected for the Youth National Fencing Task Force. (Below).
There does not appear (yet) to be any attempt at transparency in the selection process or the information/data collection & review. Mr. Andrews said they haven't had their first meeting, yet. Not sure when that will happen…..
With just a few weeks left before the Task Force makes its recommendations we need to keep the pressure on.
So, homework:
- Send this petition to 10 of your friends today.
- Go to usafencing.org and sign up for a $25 Access Membership if you are not already a voting member (your kids must be 18 to vote in Board elections! Be their voice!)
- Call or email your pediatrician or family doctor and ask about the benefits of youth competition and share in the comments or on our facebook page what you learn! Parents for Youth Fencing
- If you personally know any of the task force members (below), reach out to them politely and tell them why we need to keep Y10 and Y12 National events! (Add Y8 if it so moves you!)
- If you or someone you know is interested in serving on the USA Fencing Board of Directors there are three spots opening in 2023. Information on how to apply or nominate someone is at USAFencing.org and the deadline to do so is December 21, 2022!
Finally, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU.
xoxo
Christina
