Happy New Year to all supporters of Yeovil HASU.. Wishing you a healthy start to 2025..

We've had a great response since our last campaign update. More signatures on the online petition. Lots of people stopping to pledge their support when Quicksilver Community Group members met with patients, family and staff outside Yeovil Hospital, just before Christmas.

Our local Yeovil MP Adam Dance continues to use his parliamentary voice - fully committed to keeping the Yeovil HASU open. Even if Health Secretary Wes Streeting MP is reluctant to intervene (see our pre-Christmas update).

Ahead of our public vigil outside Yeovil Hospital on Friday 24 January, here's one further thing YOU can do..

Please CONTACT YOUR MP; remind them of the VITAL role the Yeovil HASU plays in providing emergency treatment and care for stroke patients across south Somerset and north and west Dorset. Wes Streeting might have said no to calling in NHS Somerset's decision to close the HASU at YDH. But we believe the ICB has failed to provide any evidence that forcing stroke patients to travel further for longer, will somehow guarantee better emergency care when they finally get it...

Invite your MP to join us on Friday 24 January from 10am outside Yeovil Hospital and please come along yourselves and show your support for our much needed service.

Let's send a very clear message to NHS Somerset:

"HANDS OFF OUR HASU!"
