Join our lobby of NHS Somerset ICB meeting, this Thursday 25 January from 10am onwards, @Wynford House, Lufton Way, Yeovil, BA22 8HR
"Quicksilver Community Group are shocked that NHS Somerset are still intent on pushing through the closure of Yeovil Hospital's Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. Against all advice from their own senior stroke staff at Yeovil, and the evidence presented by ourselves, patient groups, stroke survivors and their families.
The Integrated Care Board's own decision-making business case, provides devastating and details figures to show just how many people across Somerset and beyond, who think closing the Yeovil HASU would be a very bad idea. Catastrophic, according to the lead stroke consultant at YDH.
Closing Yeovil's HASU will not provide better health outcomes for stroke patients. It will end up costing more to Somerset's health and social care system.
Listen to your staff. They don't want this. Neither do their patients. We urge ICB members to reject this proposal."
