Good news folks!
The South Hams Local community really pulls together.
Another local charity steps in to help with the Save Woodcot campaign.
Kingsbridge Age Concern at Kingsbridge Care Hub. Charity number: 283954. Has offered to support the Woodcot residents and the Save Woodcot campaign by accepting donations on behalf of Save Woodcot.
This wonderful local charity that does so much for local people is showing Age UK what real charity looks like:-
Providing REAL services rather than virtual services that everyone can access from their base next to Kingsbridge Town Council offices at Quay House on Kingsbridge Town Square.
Every day Kingsbridge Care Hub cooks delicious three course meals for over 55’s and they deliver too! The happy team work tirelessly and it shows.
There is a cafe open to all within walking distance of the bus stops- it really is accessible for all.
They provide advice and wellbeing services such as a Memory Club, Grief Support, Singing for the Brain…. the advice service they offer has already been very helpful to some Woodcot elders.
Healthy activities on offer include : Belly dancing, Pilates, Chair Yoga, Ballet, Stitching and Embroidery, Arts and Craft and Sit Fit.
Kingsbridge Care Hubbis a shining example of what charity should look like. It is directly accessible by the community it serves.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Woodcot could be brought alive in such a way.
If only Age UK were prepared to do what all the other charities before them gave done…. Pass it on.
Woodcot could be a fantastic resource for Salcombe.
A vibrant, community hub where everyone could enjoy what Woodcot has to offer, rather than what is happening at the moment….
To Age UK, Woodcot is just another asset in their portfolio, to cash in on for millions of pounds.
That’s not what Miss Jennings wanted.
Woodcot could be a hub of activity for the whole community to enjoy.. That would surely be a fitting tribute to Miss Jennings legacy.
