Joy of joys…the following statement appeared on Salcombe Town Council website. Huge thanks to all those Salcombe town Councillors who voted in support of this statement.

Thankfully Salcombe Town Council are asking Age UK for answers to some robust questions.
Age UK are saying nothing- hoping that the public scrutiny will die down and that they can sell Woodcot for £0000000000!s….
Don’t let this happen. There are other charities out there who are willing to take Woodcot on and run it as Miss Jennings intended. Age UK must listen to them.
The loss of Woodcot to Salcombe would be profound- how much better would it be if the charitable thing were done by the charity that was fortunate enough to be given it?
if you’ve never been to Woodcot- here’s your chance.. there is an Open Day on Sunday 31st. Go along and see what is at stake. Post a selfie on here of your visit by adding /actions at the end of the petition URL.
Thankyou for your help- we literally could not do this without you- all 2,300 of you.
By signing and sharing this petition- you are all sending a loud and clear message to Age UK and the authorities. And at least one of them is listening. They are realising the strength of public feeling there is about what Age UK are doing. This is people power in action.
So please don’t stop keep signing and keep sharing.
And don’t forget to come to the council meeting of Salcombe Town Council at Cliff House on August 27th at 6.30 pm to show your support.
Thankyou. Thankyou. Thankyou.
