It’s been a while since we’ve updated everyone on the Weston Lions Arena — and unfortunately, this fight isn’t over.

Yes, the arena has been saved from demolition, thanks to this incredible community. But now we’re facing a new challenge.

The City is planning to leave the arena sitting empty for 2–3 years.

An empty building doesn’t stay the same — it deteriorates. What we saved could be lost through neglect.

We have serious concerns about this approach and what it means for the future of the arena and our community. After everything residents, families, and user groups did to protect this space, it’s hard not to question why it would now be left unused.

This isn’t the outcome Weston fought for.
