Responses to my last Update: “Tree museum” anyone …?, highlights that over 2,100 signatories want the government to legislate a Western Port Region Strategic Management Plan to ensure this region is not turned into a “parking lot”.

As one Hastings Vic. Community Noticeboard Facebook respondent said, “They need to understand we need areas where people can come and refresh their souls.  Take a look at the other side of the peninsula - it’s ruined with too much high-rise and traffic.”    

As yet the Western Port region has not been overwhelmed by speculative development schemes and urbanisation, but how much longer can it hold out before it becomes another Mornington peninsula?  

If we allow this ecologically sensitive region to be destroyed, we will short-change our descendants.  Contact your MP, for they too may have descendants.
