When we launched this petition in May, our immediate focus was the proposed Downtown Master Plan Update and the need for independent studies, waterfront protection, transparent decision-making, and a meaningful public voice.
Over the past several months, the City’s proposals and review process have evolved, and our objectives have become broader and more precise. We have updated the petition language to reflect where the campaign stands today, including independent cumulative-impact analysis, infrastructure planning before significant additional height or density, enforceable protections for the public waterfront and Flagler Drive corridor, greater transparency, and meaningful public participation before major decisions are made.
This is not a change in direction. It is a clearer and more comprehensive statement of the same principle that brought us together: West Palm Beach can grow, but that growth must be thoughtful, transparent, and supported by responsible planning.
