This is a HUGE endorsement for our campaign, a clear indication as to just how unpopular this bombastic competition has been, and how resentful ordinary Londoners are of the persistent "tinkering" that is going on across London, altering forever places and sites and views and monuments that have had a meaning for so many of us just as they are, and have been, for decades and centuries....ENOUGH! Why can't we learn to leave things alone? Why can't we learn that adding and changing often means destroying and undermining? The sacred memory of the Holocaust is not going to be helped by this un-convincing Disney-world generic effort. The far more serious Imperial War Museum galleries are doing much more to challenge and educate the public - we should support it in its efforts; and we should leave a beautiful, simple and elegant park to be just that: a park.
