help stop the city from destroying the horse race track please!

the judge ruled in favor of the City of Vernon, Okanagan Equestrian Society to appeal? can we get this to the Royal family for their help? the first jockeys were First Nations- Syilx young men as they were the perfect size and weight to give the horses the advantage as well they were expert horsemen . the white settlers hired the boys to ride paying them small change in comparison to what the horse owners made from the gambling. it was a central part of Vernon's tourism and could be once again. the Okanagan Equestrian Society want to make changes to provide the horses with the best of care changing the time of racing to early in the day or evening so as to not have them run in the heat of the day. keeping this equine facility filled with horses was the wish of the man who willed his property to the city. please help us make this a public request for preserving our history! it is the first official horse race track in Canada because of the Canadian Jockey Association being formed there! the many advantages of keeping it with horses can not be comprehended such as inviting children to learn about horses and the beautiful gift they are for us humans . the more who sign and the more we share this petition the more voices we can give to change the city's plans to destroy it. back in 1893 without the First Nation young people jockeys as we know them today would not exist.
