Life of Towers Hall to be extended to at least 2032

The final cohort of students were supposed to arrive at Towers Hall this September for the final year of occupation before its retirement and likely demolition. I am delighted to say that the university is now pursuing plans with relevant authorities to extend the life of Towers Hall until at least 2032. The proposal is subject to receiving authorisation from the Building Safety Regulator, but university governance seems committed to prolonging the use of this iconic building - which given the current financial climate for universities across England, is very admirable and welcome.

For now it looks like things are moving in the right direction for Towers Hall. Thank you to all who have signed the petition and donated, this building is much loved by residents and alumni alike - your help to amplify concerns surrounding the future of towers is greatly appreciated.
