Hi all,

Ticehurst Surgery has won a reprieve, but only until 2027. That gives us two years to come up with a sustainable solution. That means a surgery that's easily accessible to people in Ticehurst, Flimwell and Stonegate with good parking, nearby public transport and well-ventilated space to accommodate patients.

Southern Housing, the social housing organisation that is proposing to redevelop Newington Court, is staging an event at Ticehurst Village Hall from 12 noon on Thursday March 6th. It'll be a drop in affair. That means they are less likely to have to face a whole room of very concerned people asking hard questions. It's clever PR.

We mustn't let them off the hook. Please come along to future Parish Council meetings and, if you go to the event on the 6th, do talk to one another. Our best bet it to build a consensus about what those of us in Ticehurst and the surrounding villages want and then campaign for it TOGETHER.

The surgery closure could be a real setback for Ticehurst or it could be something that stops us staring at our phones for a while and brings us together around a common concern. That's how communities grow in strength and purpose.

I hope to see you at the parish council meetings and/or on the 6th

all the best and thanks for having supported the petition

Jonathan
