Dear Friends,

Just a quick update on the Atomic Waste Burial plan.

As you know highly damaging seismic blasting took place off the coast of Cumbria to facilitate a very hot and very deep nuclear dump.  Further seismic blasting has been halted  thanks in no small part to this petition, but the plan for Atomic Waste Burial euphemistically called a Geological Disposal Facility continues.  Here is a video of a talk that took place recently in Kendal explaining more about the plan and why it should be opposed.

Many thanks to all of you for signing the petition.

Onwards and upwards,

Marianne

note: the photo is from David Smythe a geologist, on why Cumbria is not suitable for nuclear waste burial (actually there is nowhere suitable - the waste should be monitored and retrievable)
