Hello everyone,
I wanted to share an update on the swimming petition. Since the last update, we have added over 600 new signatures in the past two months, which is truly encouraging. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this effort by signing the petition, sharing it with others, and continuing to advocate for the importance of pool access on our campus.
I would also like to again extend a sincere thank you to those who have donated. Donations made on the platform are used to increase awareness of the petition and help cover operating costs. Every contribution directly supports outreach efforts and helps the petition reach a wider audience, which has been incredibly impactful.
At this time, UTA has continued to move forward with plans to close the swimming pool. While this news may be discouraging, it is important that we remain hopeful and determined. Efforts like this take time and sustained engagement. Every conversation we have, every person we reach, and every signature added helps demonstrate how vital swimming, aquatic sports, water safety, and recreational access remain within college campuses and across our nation.
As we begin the new year, I want to encourage everyone to continue spreading the word about the petition. Many of you may be home for the holiday season, which makes this a great opportunity to share the petition with family members, friends, alumni, and others who care about aquatic access and safety. Continued outreach truly makes a difference, and every share helps move this effort forward.
Thank you again for your continued support, and I wish you all a happy and healthy New Year.
Best regards,
Ravi Raythattha
