SAVE THE TRAINING BONUS!
The Issue
Simon Harris,
We were recently informed of your plan to cut our training allowance of 31.80. We, as students currently attending National Learning Network, Hollyhill Cork, strongly disagree with your decision.
This training allowance is VITAL for us as we need it to cover training travel costs, lunches and social & community activities. We believe that cutting this training allowance is DISGRACEFUL and is unfairly targeting people with disabilities. We feel your decision is hypocritical because you are talking about building a new hospital to help people yet you are taking the training allowance from people who badly need it for their HEALTH and WELL-BEING. We are FRUSTRATED and ANGRY that new students who avail of of these services may not be getting this allowance. This will affect student's ability to take part in EVERY WAY.
We are very disappointed in the decision you are making and if you DO NOT reconsider your ill-formed plan we demand your resignation from government as you clearly DO NOT represent people with disabilities who live in Ireland.
You will not get away with this. We will continue to fight this issue until you REVERSE YOUR PLAN to abolish this much needed training allowance. As you can see from the signatures, the people of Ireland are on our side.
Signed,
