The Mayor of London’s office has rubber stamped the planning application for the Garden Bridge but has ensured it is rejected by Westminster Council after Boris Johnson refused to underwrite the £3.5m annual running costs.
Westminster Council agreed to approve the Garden Bridge on condition that TfL (or another public body) underwrites the punishingly high maintenance costs. Without this guarantee Cllr Robert Davis, Chair of Planning at Westminster, made clear that the bridge could not be built. But in response to questioning from Caroline Pidgeon at City Hall last week Boris refused to provide such a guarantee.
We continue our battle to stop this vanity project from going ahead by seeking a judicial review so please keep spreading the word and sharing this petition; we need your support more than ever!
In the meantime the press has been full of criticism about the bridge as more ugly truths are uncovered. Please copy & paste and share the following links on social media and keep writing/tweeting to the press with your objections:

It's far from over as there are over 46 conditions that the Garden Bridge Trust has to overcome and how will the barristers at Middle Temple react to the news or St Paul's Cathedral? Watch this space...
