***Snow River Dam Updates!

Thank you again for signing up to oppose Chugach Electric's Dam on the Snow River! In light of all the environmental issues Alaska and the US is facing, it's becoming more and more important to get involved. I'm sure like me, you are constantly receiving petitions to sign and there can be a bit of "petition fatigue." Don't let these important issues overwhelm you or make you give up hope! Mark Sherwood from the Native Fish Society sent me a paraphrased quote that really got me motivated to keep on fighting: "The greatest threat to our home waters is the notion that someone else will save them." If we assume that this dam will not get approved and will not be built, then that's exactly what will get happen. Most likely, Chugach Electric will get a permit for this dam, but that doesn't mean all hope is lost. It just means that this will be a long battle where we will need your energy! If you haven't already, I really encourage you to share this petition with your friends and continue to familiarize yourself with this project and the Snow River corridor. We are working with many individuals, organizations and businesses to bring everyone together for the same cause: to stop Chugach Electric from building this preposterous dam!
