N.R.W. ATTACK ON FISHING AND NOW ATTACK ON FARMING
Our rivers, streams and the like flow through farming land, throughout the UK, this is where it all happens on the salmonid front. I'm unsure if the followers of the 'Petition' are aware, but presently N.R.W. demands that all farming land in Wales need to plant trees on at least 10% of their land, despite the fact that N.R.W. through their 'Scientists' requested an investigation and evaluation into the carbon fixing capabilities of trees versus grassland. The 'Scientists' were surprised to find the grassland to be more effective. N.R.W. have chosen to ignore their own 'Scientists' here and are continuing with their demand which has prompted the farmers to challenge this decision through the National Farmers Union in various meetings as was shown on welsh televised news, this week.
Let me remind you of an update on the 'Petition' relative to the 'River Trusts' formed throughout Wales over the past few years, whilst N.R.W. rid themselves of 'Enforcement Officers' down to a very minimal number and at the same time closed down all the fish hatcheries, sat back and watched the fisheries demise, which put Salmon on the endangered list. They created an inadequate 'Licensing Scheme' relative to our continued complaints about avian predation, which appears to have been followed throughout the UK and Northern Ireland. Nature England and Nature Scotland were observers at that 2022 meeting in Wales regarding the avian predation.
'Welsh Rivers Trusts', based on their activities is to re-wild everywhere, when in fact all they are doing is creating predation corridors at vast expense. The continued action of N.R.W. against the angling fraternity using scientific views to base their continuing actions relative to avian predation, as against scientific advise by their own scientists relative to the grass versus trees issue, shows their continued disregard of reality and their view to re-wild Wales.
It beggars belief that scientific evidence on one matter is being ignored whereas on another issue the scientific view is being used, a matter of whatever floats your boat situation, which tends to fall into the general definition of bullying. This has been against the angling fraternity and now against the farmers, whose land we use to follow our pursuits upon, both with the rod and gun, and we do know of the reported view within N.R.W. against shooting sport. It is reported that within 10 years if this were to happen 90% of small farms in Wales would go out of business, is this going to spread UK wide?
Support the farmers here, whose land we are on daily, following our pursuits.
This weeks picture spells it out, also look out for the Icelandic Salmon Farm film, the same applies wherever these farms appear.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO VOTE AND SHARE THE PETITION, IT IS ON OVER 20 FISHING SITES HERE, AND I HOPE IT IS BEING SHARED TO BRING NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ELSEWHERE.
Thank you.
