CORMORANTS AND GOOSANDERS
Yes, demolishing fish stocks in our nursery streams and rivers. This week on the small River Erch which is the border which separates Llyn and Eifionydd in North Wales which I have fished for approximately 60 years for Seatrout, but no longer do, it is not a major river but a fishery nevertheless. I witnessed on two very narrow upper reaches parts, Cormorant presence. They are not there to eat the weeds are they, and on another day two Goosanders in a wider part of the same river working a pool until my presence disturbed them to move to predate elsewhere. Apathy, by anglers, means that the fish will be predated into extinction. Please pick up on these facts and do something about it, personally, keeping it legal of course. This Petition together with others over the years have and are being ignored, more pressure has to be brought to bear.
The powers in being are depending on the 'Angling Community' loosing interest. In Wales here N.R.W. appear to be led by R.S.P.B. interest. Yes, the same N.R.W. who closed down all the Salmonid hatcheries at the same time as decimating the Fisheries Enforcement Staff. They also supported the creation of 'Trusts' throughout Wales who are hell bent on re-wilding whilst ignoring the fact that the Salmon are now on the endangered list, or are they purposely ignoring this for reasons only known to themselves or maybe agreements behind closed doors.
The 'Licensing Scheme' to control the 'Avian Predation', was and is a failure and it is on record that N.R.W. are concerned that RSPB will take legal action against them if the 'Goosanders and Cormorants' are put of the 'General culling Licence', or, is that a release of false information to give them some time to prepare and arrange for a total ban on rod and line Salmon angling in Wales?, we all know what they did in 2020 with the Byelaw.
At the same time the RSPB promote the culling of 'Ruddy Duck' to prevent it breeding with the 'White Tailed Duck' and breeding it into extinction. Look at this week's update picture of this year's General Licence, at the base, it is there recorded clearly. Now, at the same time and quite rightly so 'Woodpigeon' that create damage to farmers crops are on the General Licence, Crows and Geese that cause damage to crops and livestock food are listed, but no sign of the 'Avian Predation' problem causing the Atlantic Salmon to go on the endangered list. Why?
PLEASE VOTE ON THE PETITION AND SHARE WITH AT LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON , STRENGTH IS IN UNITY, AND WE NEED TO GROW IN NUMBERS. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE PLEASE FIND ANOTHER TRO SHARE IT WITH.
PLEASE VISIT OR WRITE TO YOUR M.P. OR A.M. IN WALES AND ENGLAND AND COUNTERPARTS IN SCOTLAND AND NORTHERN IRELAND TO UPDATE THEM REGARDING THE PROBLEMS OF AVIAN PREDATION.
Thank you for your continued support.
