Good afternoon, fellow alumni & students. Tomorrow 10/13 at 4PM, a protest will occur outside of EMPAC during the Homecoming festivities, outside of the kickoff event for the 2017 RPI Capital Campaign. The administration has erected a fence after denying student application to protest, in order to keep protestors several hundred meters away from the entrance to the campaign event. This is in addition to gate security, and will include manned security along the perimeter of the fence. The protest of alumni and students in light of recent events, including the administration's choice to revise the constitutional bylaws in order to remove student control of the RPI Student Union, effectively ending an 127 year old tradition of student governance at RPI. The peaceful demonstration will begin at 4PM outside of EMPAC. We encourage all to attend. Please look for event organizers for directions, who will be present around campus briefly before and at the time of the event.
