Help us Spread this Petition - not Toxic Pollutants !

  NYC HPD is ignoring our requests and it is refusing to share with the Roosevelt Island Community any Environmental Hazards Testing results! 

  Building demolition is expected to start in a week or two, with the potential for release of Asbestos, PCB, Lead... 

  Despite the Feb. 6th, 2026 DEC Spill #2508914, oil tank removal continues, with no  Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) and no Remedial Action Plan (RAP in place ! 

  In light of the serious potential public health risks, we respectfully request: 

• Relevant city agencies formally request a pause in demolition.
• Full public disclosure of all environmental findings and site and building condition reports.
• Stabilization and maintenance of the structure pending proper environmental review.
• An independent third-party environmental assessment with transparent public reporting.
• An independent feasibility study, with the RI Community involvement,  to evaluate adaptive reuse and potential enlargement alternatives, including affordable housing, community space, and other public-benefit uses.
