APZ Committee Meeting @10am, July 14th and Contact Information for County Board Members
Good morning everyone. We hope that you all had a restful weekend!
In preparing for the battery of committee meetings taking place Tuesday (July 14th) from 8am through 4:30pm, we wanted to share the current contact information for the Ogle County Board’s membership. (As we have said before, the Ogle County website is not the most intuitive website to navigate so we want to provide as much information to the community as possible.) We have also linked this update the current roster of committee members (as it relates to their committee assignments) here: Ogle County Committee Assignments
We hope that this will encourage you all to reach out and connect with OCB members to express your concerns as it relates to data center development in Ogle County.

As a reminder:
The regular monthly meeting of the Supervisor of Assessments and Planning & Zoning Committee of the Ogle County Board will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. the Old Ogle County Courthouse, Third Floor County Board Room #317, 105 S. Fifth St., Oregon, IL.
Item 9: UNFINISHED BUSINESS (CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION): APZ Agenda
o Hearing Officer/Hearing Facilitator
o Data Center presentation
For those interested in why we still do not have our committee meetings uploaded to Youtube (like Lee County), please consider attending the County Facilities, County Security and Information Technology (IT) committee meeting at 1:00pm in Room 100 (Old Courthouse). Their agenda is posted here: CFCSIT Agenda. We have been in touch with the IT Director for Lee County during these past few weeks. They use a business
account through Zoom (an $18.33 per month) and subsequently post those meetings to YouTube (for free). What is the Ogle County Board’s excuse?
Another meeting we would recommend attending is the Executive at 4:30pm (3rd Floor, Old Courthouse):
Executive Agenda. An entity that you should all consider familiarizing yourselves with is LOEZ: Lee-Ogle Enterprise Zone. (Please consider visiting their website: LOEZ.)
On a slightly separate note, there is a national day of data center protest on July 18th, 2026 through Humans First. Currently, there are three protests in Illinois on the books. One is being hosted in Evanston, Illinois at Fountain Square 1620 Orrington Ave Evanston IL 60201 at 1pm. The second is being hosted in Granite City, Illinois at 10am (the corner of Nameoki Road and Johnson Road, starting out from the parking lot of CVS). A third is being hosted in Grayslake, Illinois beginning at 1pm Millennium Court (267 Cty A27 Grayslake, IL). We realize that these protests may be out of reach for many; we are working to ensure that community members in our region have an opportunity to exercise their rights of free speech and peaceable assembly for a Humans First event in the future. We encourage you all to visit their website to see what Humans First is all about.
At a glance, "Humans First protests demand our local, state, and federal politicians to:
1. ) Protect our hometowns, our wallets, and our way of life.
2. ) End the corporate welfare, sweetheart deals, and taxpayer bailouts.
3.) Take federal action to ensure no AI that threatens our security and liberty is built.”
Once again, we encourage those of you to consider writing to ocdc.community.outreach@proton.me. We ask that you use the following in your subject heading: “OCDC Community Contact Consent”, followed by your preferred contact information (name and email).
Thank you all for your continued engagement and commitment to preserving the beauty of our way of life in the Rock River Valley.
