Earlier this month, the City of Miami passed a resolution formally opposing the construction plan. The next day, the City announced that a compromise solution had been reached thanks to the Lt. Governor, the Director of ODOT, Rep. Bashore, and Mayor Parker. One mile of the Ribbon Road (the section in the best shape, east/west E 140 Rd between Highway 69 & S 540 Rd) would be removed from the construction plan. This will leave that section of the road completely as it is today while the other two miles will be milled out and replaced.

The Oklahoma Route 66 Association Board is discussing how we will proceed given this new development. Regardless, there will still need to be work done to this remaining mile to prevent further deterioration. The City of Miami has discussed a few options, including annexing that remaining mile.

We'll share more news when we have it.
