So true that still waters run deep. We've been quiet for a while but we have been very busy.  In response to the grassroots movement to Save the Port Royal Heritage Oak, a group of advisors has organized to create the Friends of Cherry Hill Oak Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry to provide for the preservation and maintenance of the 2013 Heritage Oak and the dozens of landmark trees surrounding it. The purchase of this property is halfway through the process of being purchased as Rural and Critical Lands by Beaufort County. Challenges remain. Beaufort County looks to the Town of Port Royal as a partner in this process. On May 10th, this coming Wednesday, The Friends of Cherry Hill Oak will make a presentation to the Town of Port Royal Council. Please join us in council chambers to show your support.

You do make a difference!

PS: The Friends of Cherry Hill Oak is building a website. It is under construction but live. Please visit to add your name to our email list for informative e-mails.

As always, we do need to continue adding signatures to our petition. Remember not to donate on the petition site unless your goal is to support the Change.org platform
