SIGN-UPS just opened to speak at the the Board of Ed public hearings on the school facilities in the budget, on Oct 23 and Oct 30, at 6pm, in Rockville (BoE headquarters in Carver Center). It was apparent at this morning's Board of Ed meeting that we have to continue to advocate for the pool. The Superintendent mentioned our powerful advocacy, but the Board must be convinced, and will be looking for cuts.
Signing up quickly helps, and the Oct 23 sign-ups close this Friday at noon. Then, they wil pick and choose speakers from those who sign up. It's important to have speakers from the school and Maple Ave community speaking about why the pool is a racial justice issue and essential to the school and Maple Ave community. If you are someone who can do that, please sign up. OR, if you can drive with a friend who you think can best represent the community on this, ask them to sign up. And let us know if you get a slot!
