Recent King Tides and winter storms have again carved high and dangerous cliffs on some Oregon beaches where the planting of European Beachgrass has resulted in the creation of ever higher sand dunes. The cliffs make access to and from the beaches difficult. 

Research by the University of Oregon showed the dunes were created by the planting of the invasive European Beachgrass. The grass traps blowing sand building higher and higher sand dunes where none existed before. Where natural dunes exist, the beachgrass stops the natural migration of sand. 

Our petition continues to gain support but more is needed to get the attention of state officials who have the authority to stop the damage caused by European Beachgrass. Share the petition and help make it happen!
