Meeting discussing the Papermill Village Project - Wednesday, August 28 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Come view the future plans of the "Papermill Village" Project that is hoping to replace the Old Mill.  This is the 2nd "neighborhood design workshop" where Think Architecture plans to "discuss (their) latest site plan designs at the Old Mill site."

This an opportunity to express your dissatisfaction with the proposed plans of Think Architecture to remove the Old Mill and replace it with a small "memorial" in the form a miniature tower that will be built using a few of the left-over stones from demolishing the Old Mill.

Interesting that this is being called a "neighborhood design workshop" in light of the fact that every homeowner in the area has signed a hard-copy petition that was delivered personally to the City Council of Cottonwood Heights at their July meeting expressing the entire neighborhoods' dissatisfaction with the project, and asking the City Council to uphold the zoning laws that were in place when they purchased their homes, which only  allowed for single family homes to be built in the area - NOT 350 apartments! 

High density housing does not belong in the natural area of a canyon, especially where there is only one narrow two-lane roadway in and out of the canyon!

• To Daughters of the Utah Pioneers & Sons of the Utah Pioneers Organizations, and Cottonwood Heights Historic Committee:   Uphold the current status of The Old Mill on the National Register of Historic Buildings! Do not allow it to be destroyed!- aeatchel@ch.utah.gov
