#NOPIPE needs your help now.
Fishermen from NS, PEI, NB and Pictou Landing First Nation have requested that the federal government conduct a rigorous environmental assessment of Northern Pulp’s proposed new effluent treatment facility. This facility would see 70-90 million litres of treated pulp effluent discharged into prime fishing and recreation grounds of the Northumberland Strait every day.
The decision to conduct this environmental assessment is made by the federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change. In making her decision, she will consider a number of things, including whether this is an issue of broad public concern.
We need your help to demonstrate that broad public concern exists . Here is the link that will let you fill out your name and just hit send. Every letter counts, every single person can make a difference.
