Petition Update: CPGRAMS Reference MOEAF/E/2026/0002550
A public grievance regarding the Great Nicobar Project was submitted through the CPGRAMS portal on 09/05/2026 under Reference No. MOEAF/E/2026/0002550.

The grievance has since been closed on the portal with the following remark:

"The matter raised in the grievance related to the Forest Department of Andman and Nicobar Islands, therefore, the Grievance has been forwarded to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), Department of Forest and Wildlife, Government of Andman and Nicobar Islands for necessary action."
Separately, on 01/06/2026, the Forest Protection Division, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Government of India), communicated by email that a copy of the grievance had been forwarded to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), Department of Forest and Wildlife, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The communication requested the concerned authority to examine the matter, take action as per applicable Acts, rules and regulations, and communicate the Action Taken Report (ATR) to both the applicant( Save Earth Stand for Change team of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam PURA) and the Ministry.

As of this update, the Action Taken Report is awaited.
