Hello.
Some supporters didn't receive my last update on the change.org website. This can be found here:
https://www.change.org/p/save-the-national-forest-landscape-from-a-60metre-incinerator/u/31985376
It encourages residents to comment against the Willshee's regularisation effort, this is an existing waste site on the land where the incinerator would be, which is current operating against many planning conditions, including running over 750 extra truck movements a week beyond it's permit. It is acknowledged within the regularisation application that if this were to be approved, then it would support the incinerator application to go ahead.
You can comment on the regularisation application here: https://planning.derbyshire.gov.uk/Planning/Display/CW9/0623/15
Stanton Village Hall have kindly hosted objections here: https://www.villagehallstanton.com/post/willshees-waste-regularisation-application
Update on the incinerator
11 months after we were told this would come to South Derbyshire District Council, it appears the incinerator may come on the 14th November! See items 1.11 and 1.12 of this planning document.
It appears that South Derbyshire District Council are recommending that both the incinerator and the Willshee's regularisation application are objected to! Great news!
However, the Waste Planning Authority that makes this decision is Derbyshire County Council and not SDDC so this doesn't mean that we're victorious yet!
What can I do???
- Comment on the regularisation application as above.
- Comment on the updated information provided for the incinerator application. There are some example objections here.
- Keep sharing this petition and creating noise about this application. It is not right that one of the fastest-growing residential areas in the country should have an incinerator when Wales and Scotland have decided to pause the development of any because of health concerns!
Thank you for your continued support. We're at over 1500 petition signatures.
