This video and image gallery with drone footage captures some of the issues surrounding the impacts of the Modoc Road Multi-Use (MUP) project on this valuable GREENBELT at the edge of urban encroachment in the Santa Barbara County unincorporated area adjacent to Hope Ranch.

Developers, and the County of Santa Barbara, are planning to build 1000’s of housing units at La Cumbre Mall in the Macy’s and Sears building sites…0.4 miles from the eastern end of a protected nature preserve where 29 iconic and historic heritage Canary Island Date palm trees are threatened along with dozens of other trees…speaking words of wisdom…let it be…

If you want to help to keep this ecologically valuable open space from encroaching urban developers like Santa Barbara County Public Works and others sure to come. Please contribute to the Modoc Preserve Legal Fund to continue to help save these 100+ year old iconic, and historic, heritage trees and protected nature preserve before it's too late. Everything helps!
