On Friday, December 8, 2023 starting at 8:00AM ET, there will be a meeting of the Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC/Council) of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Item 11 is "Determine whether approximately 5.40 acres of state-owned conservation land within Anastasia State Park are no longer needed for state conservation purposes." If the ARC/Council votes to not retain this land as part of the state park, it can be used for any purpose, including building a city fire station outside of city limits, using it for parking, or selling it to a private entity.
Please join this meeting and urge the Council members to vote to RETAIN this land as part of the State Park for state conservation purposes. To register for the meeting, please visit https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/1401232346970663511
The meeting begins at 8:00AM but there are other items on the agenda prior to Item 11, meaning this item may not occur until later in the morning.
If you are not able to join the meeting or stay until Item 11, please send a brief statement to Hank Vinson at Hank.Vinson@floridadep.gov
