Gathering allies

Since our last update, our advocacy leaders reached out to civic officials on the Peninsula requesting their leadership in supporting us with our cause. We are pleased to inform you that five local mayors, one county supervisor, and two healthcare district board directors have agreed to advocate on our behalf. 

We are also excited to report that the Mickelson therapy pool issue will be on the agenda at the upcoming Burlingame City Council meeting. We will share details on this when we know more.

One simple thing you can do to help

We have recently reached a milestone and exceeded 4,000 supporters who object to the permanent closure of the Mickelson therapy pool. Many of these signatures are from people who were referred to this site by someone else. 

If each of us commits to asking just one more person to sign the petition, we can arrive at 8,000 signatures in a very short amount of time. When we reach 5,000 signatures, Sutter Health Mills-Peninsula CEO Janet Wagner and her boss, Sutter Health of California CEO Sarah Krevans, will receive notifications that we have reached our next goal. 

Explain how important aquatic therapy is to your mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, friend, or neighbor. Let them know how aquatic therapy has helped you or someone else in your circle of family and friends. Suggest to them that they also may need access to an aquatic health center in the future for pain relief, recovery from injury, or even for basic health maintenance in the years to come. It's simple.
