Hi everyone,

As you were one of the 2,500 residents who signed my Save The Loop petition, I am delighted to be able to let you know that Southeastern have now agreed to restore ALL DAY loop trains from New Eltham, Mottingham and other stations on the Sidcup Line to and from Abbey Wood - from this December onwards!

As you know, after years of lobbying by local Conservative councillors and by Sidcup's Conservative MP Louie French, we successfully restored peak time loop trains in December 2024.  This new change will mean loop trains will now run to and from the Elizabeth Line ALL DAY again - and on Saturdays too, which restores this improtant route for Charlton fans all along the Sidcup Line to reach The Valley on match days.

When these final loop services are restored back this December 2026, the Save The Loop campaign will have meet all of its aims.  I'll continue to keep up the pressure on Southeastern to run more reliable services in both directions.

Thank you again for your support - I'm really grateful to everyone who signed and shared the petition, which really helped our argument with Southeastern executives. This shows that people power sometimes really can work!

Best wishes,

Councillor Matt Hartley
Conservative councillor for Mottingham, Coldharbour and New Eltham ward
