Parkland missing from the vision for Box Hill

This week’s release from the Suburban Rail Loop Authority has the headline:

MORE TRANSPORT, MORE HOUSING, MORE JOBS WITH SRL

Still missing from the vision for Box Hill is MORE PARKLAND.

We continue to call for the state government and Whitehorse Council to work constructively together to secure and preserve the Box Hill Brickworks site for new permanent public open space - now and for future generations.

The Authority predicts that the resident population of Box Hill will reach 77,500 by 2056 (almost triple the current population) with significant growth in high-rise housing.

There must be more parkland.
