It's Not Over Yet!

Dear Larchmont Playhouse Supporters, We just spoke to the seller’s broker — there is a contract out on the $1.4 million offer. The party that made the offer is still doing his or her diligence (apparently getting an engineer to inspect and prepare a report). While the seller’s in-house attorney is reviewing the contract, nothing has been signed as of today. The broker is a bit vague on whether there is a new deadline (his duty is, after all to the seller), but he says that he and the seller are waiting to see if Larchmont/Mamaroneck can make it happen. At this point he said that he would call if they’re about to sign. We don’t know when this will be; since we've gotten two deadlines already that weren’t real deadlines, how much more time we have to raise $1 million more is unclear at best. Here’s where things stand: we have received pledges for an amazing $510,000 in just four weeks — it’s an incredible result showing the support of the community to keep the theater. Thank you all for making or considering pledges — and a special thank you to those who have already increased those pledges. Please keep talking to your friends and neighbors about the project because there’s still a chance we can make this work! There are many questions — this project has had so many iterations that it is hard to keep track. We have retained a pro bono lawyer who is helping us ready our 501c3 application, but that process is never brief.
