503 of you have signed. Thank you.

Here's what your signatures have helped make happen this week.

Islington Council has formally confirmed that a conflict of interest investigation into two HACA trustees who are serving ward councillors is now officially open. Their deadline to complete the investigation is 2 April 2026 — six days after the planned closure date of 27 March. The closure is scheduled to happen while the council's own governance inquiry is still running. We have written to the Council Leader to make clear that is not acceptable.

Four specialist public law firms have been approached about Judicial Review of the closure decision. We are waiting on responses.

We have written directly to the Leader of Islington Council, the Executive Member for Children and Families, and the Chair of the Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee asking them to intervene before 27 March.

A comprehensive Freedom of Information request has been submitted to Islington Council covering every department that could have touched this decision — funding, housing, planning, children's services, and councillor communications going back to January 2023.

UNION representation has been sought for the five staff facing redundancy. The financial case for those redundancies does not hold up. The council's own data shows £52,311 in live grants for this year. The Play Project was the only profitable service the charity operated.

13 days left.

If you haven't already — please share this petition with everyone you know. And if you can, take one more step: go to charitycommission.gov.uk and file a complaint about HACA (charity no. 1164597). Cite no Equality Impact Assessment, no consultation with families, and closure of a funded service. It takes five minutes and every complaint is logged.

We are building a case that cannot be ignored. You are part of it.
