The White Hart Beer House & Kitchen is Under Threat

0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!

At 5,000 signatures, this petition is more likely to get picked up by local news!

Thanks so much for helping us take our petition past 3000 signatures! We really appreciate the outpouring of support for the pub, it's been lovely talking to people online and in person who value what we do.

Thanks again for taking time to help us, we've been bowled over by all the love!

The Wellington Pub Group is trying to redevelop the upper floors of The White Hart into residential flats.

Say goodbye to late nights and music. Without them, we won’t be able to survive.

It’s a tale as old as time. In the last decade alone, 35% of London venues have closed.

The White Hart Beer House & Kitchen is a craft beer pub and music venue in New Cross, London. Our venue is under threat from the freehold landlord, The Wellington pub group. They are applying for planning to renovate the upper floors into residences, which we know would make our business untenable, as the hours are set to be reduced to close at midnight and prohibit amplified music.

We are New Cross’s only dedicated craft beer pub, carrying 22 keg and 2 cask lines. We also stock new and exciting canned and bottled craft beers from the UK all over the world. We have four nights of live music every week, with traditional Irish music and Jazz as well as local DJs until 3am every Friday and Saturday night. We employ 20+ local people.

We are working on many fronts to fight this process, one being our public petition. We want to show the council how much we are valued locally and also the larger public’s feelings about the importance of keeping venues open. Every 10 signatures will count as an objection to the planning proposals.

We started this project two and a half years ago in an effort to revive The White Hart as an exciting and valuable destination for the New Cross community, young and old. Combining a friendly family atmosphere in the day with a vibrant music venue at night, whilst serving the best local craft beer and food to South London. To have our pub threatened after so much hard work is painful, to say the least.

We have until the end of May. Every name counts.
