Dear supporters,

Thank you for standing with Peter Prabhu and his vision to create a garden temple in Perth — a space of peace, devotion, and community service.

We want to update you on recent developments:

  • On 7 May 2025, the Scottish Government’s appointed Reporter, David Liddell, dismissed our appeal, upholding the original enforcement notice issued on 10 January 2025.
  • While Mr Liddell acknowledged the temple’s spiritual and communal value, he suggested these benefits may be considered if a future planning application is submitted.
  • Then, on 9 October 2025, Mr Graham Stewart of Perth & Kinross Council wrote, stating that no evidence of dismantling has been received. The council now intends to seek contractor quotes to forcibly dismantle the structure of the half-completed temple— and bill Peter for the cost.

Peter Prabhu, who is in his 70s and lives with a heart condition, remains committed to preserving the temple. He has asked for our help to revamp this petition and raise awareness.

We now have 388 signatures on this petition. We ask for your continued support:

  • Speak up for spiritual spaces, and support the Tiny Temples Campaign
  • Help us protect the Garden Temple built with love and devotion

With gratitude, Saranga Thakur das (Stephen Shaw) Welfare Officer – Krishna Community SCIO SC053892
