Stop Ghaziabad Development Authority from cutting 250 years old Peepal Tree

Stop Ghaziabad Development Authority from cutting 250 years old Peepal Tree
The Issue
This 250 years old Peepal tree is home to thousands of rare birds amidst an engulfing concrete jungle. If this tree is cut to accommodate half a dozen flats being developed in its place thousands of rare species of birds will die.
We need to draw your attention to the continued chopping of 250 year old peepal tree, which is home to thousands of birds and like parrots, crows, pigeons, sparrows, myna, owl, patori, and hundreds of squirrels by Ghaziabad Development Authority for selling / auctioning of approx. 520 sq m of land /plots out of 720 sq m falling under the old peepal tree in H Block Govidpuram, Ghaziabad. The tree being humongous and 250 old is huge source of 24 hr oxygen to the residents and maintaining balance of the environment.
The tree which is a property of district forest department and home to diversity of birds and life has been heavily chopped of its huge wide branches, leaving hundreds of birds homeless to die in killing heat. This is done for easing latest auctioned plot owners to build there multi-story homes.
We therefore request you to initiate immediate and forceful action against the GDA and stay the auction and allotment so that this 250 yr old tree and thousands of birds could be saved in the interest of the environment and the wildlife..
