Thank you all so very much for signing this petition. Here is the final artist's mock-up,  released a couple of days ago, incorporating the designs of students from seven local schools.

As I said, I think this is the best compromise we could have hoped for in the circumstances. The original mural is left intact, with a new splash of bright and vibrant colour in the vacant grey concrete space above. They have tried hard to integrate the designs, for instance by extending the tree at the left, and matching the colour of the blue sky.
