Lichfield District Council have announced that they will decide the fate of the Friary Grange Leisure Centre at a public meeting on Monday October 7.
The meeting will be held at The Garrick Theatre at 6pm and a decision will be announced that evening.
Our community needs to show our council representatives how that saving the leisure centre is a priority for tax payers, and the best way to do that is to turn up to the meeting in your droves. 500 seats are available inside the theatre, but we also need to make some noise outside the theatre, so please, come along and campaign to save Friary Grange Leisure Centre.
Members of the public are encouraged to speak at the meeting, so if you have a good story to tell about your use of the centre, register to speak at the meeting: https://www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/sports-fitness/friary-grange-leisure-centre?documentId=598&categoryId=20021
In the meantime, continue to lobby the council cabinet, who will be the final decision makers. https://democracy.lichfielddc.gov.uk/mgCommitteeDetails.aspx?ID=138
Finally, a quick note on the petition. After some wonderful support from a team of volunteers, we secured 3,000 additional signatures at the Lichfield Food Festival - so the total now sits over 11,000.
Thank you for your support.
Hope to see you all on 7 October.
Best regards
Matt Wilson
