On the eve of what may be a busy evening for many of us tomorrow, I felt now would be an appropriate time to update you all.
Firstly, on behalf of Lyndsey, Emma C and myself, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your overwhelming support, care and enthusiasm that has been displayed from the outset of the petition. The last week has seen staggering growths in signatures as well as an unprecedented amount of people joining our Facebook group - Grimsby West Objections". We have now gathered almost 1200 signatures and over 1000 of you have shared the petition in your own way, whether that be by email, Facebook, WhatsApp etc.
A successful petition is normally shared at least 12 times by it's creator - if every person that signs this petition repeats their own shares by a similar amount, it will only be a matter of time before we have phenomenal numbers. For instance - if each and every one of us had 10 of our family, friends or colleagues sign, we would be sitting on a petition with 12000 signatures already and that number would just keep growing and growing - please continue to share at your own pace and encourage every single person you know to support you in your passion for this campaign - Numbers really do matter.
This week has once again seen an astonishing amount of tireless work being put in by my colleagues Lyndsey and Emma C - council meetings on site, parish council meetings, media interviews with radio and newspaper, behind the scenes research, leaflet production, night and day responses to questions and queries in relation to the campaign/petition and door to door leaflet dropping and this is all whilst they continue with full time careers, home and family lives. A true "labour of love" as Lyndsey would say. If you haven't already, please do come and join us on Facebook as I think you will be amazed by the input of our near 900 members, their stories, their amazing pictures, memories, fear and most of all their like minded passion that we clearly all share. There is a wealth of information on our page that you may not have even seen or heard about previously, there are also letters that you can send to your local ward councillor etc so we really do look forward to welcoming you.
