Much of the advice on eagles during our effort to stop the destruction of our South Charlotte Bald Eagle habit came from experts in the small town of Lincoln Maine.
A few weeks ago the Town of Lincoln identified 950 local veteran graves they hoped to honor on National Wreaths Across America Day (Saturday December 14, 2024).
Sadly, as of this morning they only have sponsors for 38 wreaths.
The Lincoln Police Department is coordinating this effort and needs a little help. If you can spare $17 and/or share the following link to sponsor a wreath they would appreciate it.

Lincoln is typical Small Town America (pop 4,866). It is also the home of Master Sergeant Gary Gordon the medal of honor recipient portrayed in the film Black Hawk Down.
Gordon graduated from the same Lincoln Maine high school as my mother-in-law, Mattanawcook Academy.
It would be awesome if you could help them raise enough money to place wreaths on every area veteran grave this Christmas.
Thank You and Merry Christmas!
