Just a quick update.
We have more than 4,500 signatures!
Beyond our Eagles one of our main concerns is flooding and protection of our wetlands that surround the Gillespie Property on 3 sides.
Stormwater runoff has increased dramatically over the last decade in South Charlotte. Given the scope of the construction project we are certain this will have a negative impact on Four Mile Creek and cause even more flooding.
I had a very positive conversion with Katie Peralta Soloff an Editor with Axios the local online news source in Charlotte. She also spoke with Charlotte City Council Member Ed Driggs but was unable to reach David Gillespie or RK Investors. A copy of her story is here.
Special thanks to Frank Vasto was kind enough to come out to Piper Glen and take photos of the Eagles; there are more pictures on the Rea Road Neighborhood Coalition website.
A couple of our Rea Road neighbors will "man" a petition desk at the Greenway Entrance next Saturday March 11th from 9-3 The goal is to obtain even more signatures in addition to those signatures already collected on Change.org
Anyone willing to help is welcome to join us. Stop by and say hello, or help "man" the petition desk. If you have not signed our petition please do and share with whomever you can.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and thank you for your continued support!
