Whoo hoo! We have reached over 5,000 signatures on our petition - halfway to our goal of 10,000. Our carrot boycott is getting bigger and bigger attention. On Sunday, August 13th, The Bakersfield Californian wrote an article about the boycott and the petition:
Because both Grimmway and Bolthouse are headquartered in Bakersfield, this publication writing about them urged them to release statements. Their concern with basin "sustainability" will frustrate you - considering they are pumping water that is thousands of years old and will take thousands of years to replenish. Their concern about the people who live in Cuyama will irk you as well, given they sued our schools who estimate they'll spend 25k this year to defend their water rights.
Please continue to share the petition! You can also follow @StandWithCuyama for updates and more ways to help.
