The Claude Moore Colonial Farm will conduct an 18th Century Summer Market Fair this Saturday and Sunday, July 21 & 22 from 11 am until 4:30 pm in McLean, VA. Play games and watch a children’s puppet theatre. Period demonstrations include spinning, dyeing and the blacksmith at work. Make your own Corn Husk Doll or learn to dip a candle. Enjoy music, dancing and 18th century fun. Staff and volunteers in costume and character. See heritage breed animals such as Ossabow pigs and turkeys. Lunch for purchase includes grilled chicken, spicy sausages and breads, roasted olives, seasonal vegetables, watermelon, pineapple and three varieties of fruit pies. The Colonial Tavern serves a variety of beer and ale, wine, lemonade and ginger ale. Affordable, educational and fun!
